Andrew's wish

I worked last night, so my mom came over to babysit the kids while I slept for a few hours. I woke up to hear Andrw in the backyard yelling at my mom in excitement that he found a four leaf clover. I then heard her say that he needs to make a wish. He walked back out into the backyard by himself and I heard him make his wishes. My window was open and this is what he said "I wish the whole earth could turn into gold. I wish my favorite TV show Voltron would come back on the TV again. I wish summer would never end." He was so full of passion and was so serious.

I never want to forget that moment.

Kachuzzi

We were very blessed to have been given this Jauzzi, or as the kids call it "Kachuzzi".  Paul's clients moved into a house and they didn't want it. Paul said he had no problem taking it off of their hands. He found some guys on craigslist and they moved it to our patio, a few weeks later we had an electrician come and hook it up, and now not a day has gone by that we haven't used it. It's basically a pool for the kids, and a mini getaway for Paul and I.

We had my parents over to join us for some blended drinks and a dip. I love having my parents over for a casual afternoon filled with relaxation, good music and good food.

Big Bear

Our second annual Demboski trip to Big Bear was another fantastic vacation. We chose a different house this time, one that is lakefront and it was totally worth it. The water wasn't clean enough to swim in right in our back yard, but it made it much easier for taking the boat out. The cousins got along beautifully and spent hours all day long playing with each other.

The girls had a great time lounging in the sand and waiting for their turn on the boat. There were cocktails all day long and delicious food all day long as well.
We even managed to go in the indoor Jacuzzi one time, and surprisingly nobody got sick or an ear infection from it.
The dinners on the porch were some of my favorite memories. We all worked together to cook great meals each night and the view looking out on to the lake was gorgeous. One night when everyone had gone to bed, Paul, Katie, Mike H and I stayed up past 2 am, watching a magnificent lightning show that seemed to last for hours. After the kids went to bed each night we would play a game called Werewolf. It took a bit of recruitment on Paul's part to get everyone interested, but once we started we all loved it. We played two nights in a row. Paul's games always bring so much fun to our evenings.

Going tubing was a major highlight of our weekend. We all went out everyday, close to all day. A few times it rained but we did not let it get in our way. The kids had fun on the tube as well, but Andrew was not a fan of going fast. It took a few tries to convince him it wasn't all that bad. He preferred to stay on the boat and raise the flag when someone fell in the water.

Another successful trip with an amazing family!

Camp Bug

This was the first year of Camp Bug! My parents took the oldest grand kids to their house for 4 days. They had all sorts of activities planned for the kids. I'm not sure who was more excited, my parents of the kids. Andrew and Allison were super happy to spend time with their Pearce cousins. Unfortunately Andrew got super sick halfway through the camp and we had to pick him up early. He was really bummed
I am really happy my parents have started this tradition. Some of my favorite childhood memories growing up were the week we got to spend up at my Grandma Madeline's house. Grandparents are a very important part of a child's life and I feel so blessed knowing my kids will grow up with two sets of grandparents who love them.
