Andrew's Fit-A-Thon

Andrew was so excited to have Paul and I come to his school to watch him complete his Fit-A-Thon course.
 He jumped through hoops.

He balanced on the balance beam.

He bounced to the finish line.

Her even hurdled down the line.

 His sisters cheered him on.

 Andrew's TK class.

Andrew's BFF Kingston. These two are inseparable.

Allison wanted to do the obstacle course too, but was too shy, so mommy did it with her.

Andrew was the fastest one out there! We are so proud of him.

San Francisco

Well we finally did it. We made the journey up the 5 freeway to San Francisco to visit Katie and Mike. The ride up wasn't too bad. Considering it took us way too many hours with a car full of kids, but we made the best of it. I think Paul and I solved all of the world's problems. Once we got to Katie's house we were on the go pretty much the whole time. She was a great sport and showed us all of the sights that she knew the kids would enjoy.

One of my favorite spots was this kid discovery museum, where the kids had a chance to run, play, create and learn. They enjoyed playing on the play ground, painting on windows and cuddling their Aunt Katie.

After the kid discovery museum we headed over to the crab catching destination, right under the golden gate bridge. It was freezing to say the least. But Andrew's reaction to the whole thing was worth sitting in the cold weather. I am not sure who was more excited, Andrew or Mike. Andrew could hardly contain himself and it was making me a nervous wreck. I was so afraid he was going to fall off the fishing pier. And then keeping Allison and Ashley entertained was another challenge. It was overall a VERY successful crabbing trip. We caught multiple crabs and even brought one home to eat for dinner.

Our Beautiful family, and the poor crab AKA dinner

Katie was excited to take the kids to the park down the street from her. It was full of great equipment and it seemed to be the place to be for all of the local families on a Sunday morning.

The kids enjoyed the drama for the fire truck outside of Aunt Katie's apartment. Andrew and Allison kept calling Katie's apartment "the hotel". So of course we kept calling it that as well. It just made more sense to them.
I think we have this same picture of Paul and Andrew in front of the sea lions when Andrew was just about 2 1/2 years old.

How could we go all the way to San Francisco without visiting the zoo? The kids had a ball, the zoo grounds were beautiful. We saw all sorts of great animals, lions, zebras, giraffes, and gorillas, but Andrew and Allison loved the petting zoo the most.

We had a beautiful time in the beautiful city, and most of all we enjoyed a long weekend of having Katie to ourselves. We sure do miss her living close by.

Pinterest Comes To Life

I took the week off of work to hang out with the kids while they were on spring break from school. It was my goal to spend fun quality time with them. I decided to show them my pinterst page, and have them choose what they wanted to do. They chose play with colorful spaghetti, so colorful spaghetti they got. It was quite easy to make and even more fun to play with. They kids were entertained for the afternoon, and I felt like a trophy mom. A win-win for us all.

Ashley got in on the fun as well. I think we ate most of her portion. It was like lunch and playtime all in one. A win-win for Ashley.

These days are limited. I  try to absorb their childhood, embrace each moment. Of course there is laundry to be done, rules to enforce and dishes to be done. But amongst the rustle and bustle of the everyday, it is moments like these that keep us going.

Even Cold Baby got in on the fun. I love Spring Break!
