Happy 30 Katie, Happy 60 Buny

We had a blast playing at Buny's 60th and Katie's 30th party. It has been awhile since we have all gotten together. I love watching Andrew, Allison and Ashley play with their cousins. They all get along so well and play the same. I am one lucky woman to have married into such a great family.

There was a grand idea to get a pinata, hang it up in the smallest patio and let the children and adults swing a bat around trying to break it.  I am not sure how we all survived, but we managed.

The Corcoran's were in town and were able to make it to the part as well. Addison and Allison are so similar just like their daddies.

Allison is a Big Bear

Today was Allison's first day of preschool as a big bear. And she was beyond proud to call herself a big bear. Being a big bear meant helping the little bears, setting an example of how to be a good student and of course LUNCH BUNCH! Allison has this amazing ability to bond with certain people, and I mean really bond. She develops deeply connected friendships and plays so nicely with these girls. Some of the girls in her life that she has deeply bonded with is her cousin Lexie, her cousin Rebekah, Addison Corcoran, and now she has had a whole year of preschool and has bonded with Kiana. But this year a little bear is joining them and Allison has already bonded with her, Aurora McKenzie. I am happy Allison is able to have such amazing and sweet friends to have at Bayshore Co-op. I am the lucky mom that has been elected as President of the Co-op this year and look forward to having this be our last year at the Co-op. We will have one year off before Ashley starts preschool.

Andrew is 6!

Andrew should have been born August 29th, his due date, but the little stinker wanted to stay put for a bit longer, earning him a first week of school birthday. On his third day of Kindergarten I was able to go to his classroom and watch his class sing Happy Birthday to him (in Spanish of course). I brought cupcakes for his class.

I surprised Andrew on the morning of his birthday with a crepe paper trap on his door so he would have to break out  when he woke up. Of course my sweet boy ended up crawling underneath it because he wanted to keep it like that forever :)

How could we not have chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast? It's a healthy tradition!

On his actual birthday Andrew had a soccer game. He did great and even scored a goal! He is slowly learning to enjoy soccer, and his sisters are slowly learning to enjoy sitting in the heat watching him play.

It was well over 90 degrees out on his birthday and thankfully we picked bowling for his party. The air conditioned ally was a nice way to celebrate our big boy. I think everyone we invited was able to make it to his party except one. It was a great turn out and fun was had by all.

It was chaotic, loud, a bit crazy at times, but what else can you expect from a 6 year old birthday party.

After bowling we came back with our family to our house to open up presents. Andrew and Uncle Dude played Skylanders (I am pretty sure Andrew kicked his butt) and Allison and Papa Bug had a great time bonding and wrestling for  twenty minutes straight. It was a magical day to celebrate a magical boy. I am so in love with you little man and I am beyond proud of the boy you have grown up to be. I can't wait to celebrate all of your birthdays with you!

Espanol??

Here we go the first day of Kindergarten!!!
I have no words to describe this day. It is the beginning of his education, the first step in a 17 year journey. A milestone... and it is all starting in SPANISH! Andrew is attending our neighborhood school Patrick Henry where he is participating in a Spanish-immersion program. His teacher is Sra. Medina and she does not speak English to the students, only Spanish. It is going to be an exciting challenge for all of us, but if anyone can lead the way, it is Andrew. I loved walking him to school, in fact we walked with Jessie and Claire and it was just a great sense of community. Allison and Ashley were right there with him the whole walk and were excited to see their big brother go off to the  big school down the street.
He has grown up so much it is simply ridiculous how big he has gotten. I will never forget driving him home from the hospital  after he was born and showing him our house and now I am taking him to his first day of Kinder. I cannot be more proud of this young  boy. He lights up my life.
